So, how are things with you? Are you getting back to normal after the Festive Break, and if so, what exactly is normal? Why go back to normal when you can go forward with extraordinary now the new year is underway.

Normal is a word we use far too often to describe our days, our lives, our businesses and even ourselves but what is "normal?" The definition is constituting or conforming to a type or standard; regular, usual, typical; ordinary, conventional. Really, who wants to be normal?

Every person who is starting, building or has been running a business is not normal; they are extraordinary people who take a leap of faith and courage and branch out on their own. Obviously there are millions of business owners in the world and every one making a difference, not only to their lives but their families, friends and the people they support by giving them employment. Normal doesn't really cover it, does it.

This year I've heard people saying they are not going to make the usual resolutions because let's be honest how many of us stick to them? By February most are forgotten! In business it's better to work towards your objectives or business goals. At The LG Group ours is always striving to deliver the best customer service to our clients so they can deliver to theirs.

No business owner should ever think of themselves as just "normal". They are not "ordinary" or "regular". Most of them stood, at one point in their lives, on the edge of a precipice, and thought: `Shall I jump?' Taking that leap of faith into an unknown future is a BIG deal and it takes extraordinary people to take it.

However, once you have taken the leap, what then: that's when the real hard work begins because building something from scratch is not easy and it takes strength of character and a strong mindset, and of course, you need to be strong enough to ask for help. None of us can build a business without solid foundations and the building blocks that others help us to put in place.

No business is an island; we all use something or somebody else, even if we think we are doing it alone. The internet, the computer, our Smartphones, networking groups, emails – they are all there because of someone else.

Of course The LG Group is also one of your solid foundation building blocks. Because we are not "normal" we support you to get your name out there, make your sales come true and then we keep you out there so the right customers can find you and come to YOU.

As I said, no business is an island: we all need to rely on others to make our businesses work and be successful.

We can chose to hide behind Normal Norman or throw away that word "normal" and start remembering that we are all extraordinary people.
