Firm Marketing

This week sees the historic coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Charles has spent a lifetime waiting for this moment. He has also spent over fifty years in love with his queen; but of course, not everyone has felt the same way about Camilla.

Now, though, the majority of people accept Camilla because they accept and admire Charles and the Royal Family, but what has brought about this incredible turnabout where Camilla is concerned?

For so many decades she was a vilified woman: most of us had never met her but we believed the press. It was okay to hate her; she ruined lives. She wasn't "attractive" enough. She smoked fags and was often compared to the horses she loves...

However, over the past twenty-five years Camilla slowly became accepted. In the aftermath of Diana's tragic death, Charles finally chose to defy "The Firm" and make it clear that he would no longer compromise where the woman, he truly loved, was concerned.

So, what brough about this turnaround? It was simply clever and strategized marketing and PR.

Now, I'm not suggesting for one minute that The Lead Generation Group should have handled such a big marketing campaign, but any success that leads to a thriving and sustainable business – albeit the Royal "Firm" or any other business – needs excellent marketing, and that's something we know you can rely on when we handle your business marketing.

In terms of Camilla, there was so much unseen work going on before "launching" her to the world.

Do you remember that carefully staged night, on January 28th 1999, when Charles and Camilla emerged from The Ritz to a cacophony of cameras and reporters, as the world's press was waiting to capture the moment when it was deemed appropriate by The Firm, that the world was ready for Camilla to be confirmed as Charles' beloved partner.

After Diana's death it was reported that Charles was dismissed as "unlikely to ever to crowned" and sixty-six per cent of the public believed that if Charles went on to marry Camilla, he should give up the throne.

Fast forward to 6th May 2023. The bunting is out, the Union Jacks are waving in the breeze and preparations for street parties throughout the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth are well and truly underway.

At the LG Group we have been instrumental in turning a business around, just as Mark Bolland did for our current King and Queen Consort.
