How to Use Email Marketing Successfully

The number one reason why Email marketing for companies is still so very current is because consumers prefer email.  The use of Email is certainly going to be around for quite a while, so why not build your Email list and create a stable long-term investment that will pay off for many years to come.

There are some great Email marketing service providers that help you not only send emails but to create campaigns, newsletters and marketing messages. Most of the initial service providers are free, so marketing your products and services by email is not only fast but flexible and cost effective.

We use Email marketing here because it works and has a proven track record of success. See what I have learnt and give it a go………….

Here are 5 lessons I have learnt:

  1. Create your Lists: Spend time to create your lists, think of your target audience and who you want to target. All your present and future customers are valuable but consider those you may have lost. Build these three groups to start with, this will enable you to continue to build trust and communication with your present customers, relationships with future customers and broken ties with old customers. Then consider other groups or organisations you want to engage with but build slowly and measure your results.
  2. Imagery & Design: Remember a picture paints a thousand words. Let your graphics and videos do the talking there is nothing worst than a wall of text. Use good quality graphics to help your customers see what the point of the email is. A short amount of text can be used to direct or signpost customers to other platforms if need be, Many Emails are now read on smartphones and tablets so consider your design and ensure its responsive.
  3. Call-To-Action: So you have now created your list, sorted your design, Imagery and message and it has been sent out. After the customer has read your email your intention is to get some form of response and this can be done through a call-to-action button. The call-to-action is a key ingredient to any effective marketing campaign or newsletter because it is an invitation to users to respond in such a way that you can statistically measure your success. The text on the call-to-action buttons needs to be very clear, compelling and visible. You can name the buttons what you wish, which will assist the customer and direct them accordingly.
  4. Keep Customers Informed: Email campaigns and newletters are a great way to stay connected with your customers without having to have lengthy telephone calls. Keep them up to date with your products and services and any current news items. This in turn will continue to strengthen current realtionships or even build new ones. By being consistent and over time you will extend your reach, increase website traffic, strengthen your brand and increase sales.
  5. Inexpensive: Email marketing is easy, effective and inexpensive. In just a short time you can reach out to a large number of customers with your message, services and products. Your platform will show you your results and you can easily see what campaigns are effective and which are not.
