Pay Per Click – the True Cost of Doing It Yourself

Everyone loves a good holiday.

My wife Lisa and I are no exception.

A few times every year we make a point of travelling to somewhere new and enjoying a relaxing holiday.

We love beach holidays and city breaks. Package holidays and historical trips.

Whether we’re soaking up the sun in Cape Verde or discovering the sites and sounds in Bruges or Brussels, we always have a wonderful time.

But we’ve been married for 1 year. And travelling for even longer.

Our holidays didn’t always go quite so well.

Back in the day, when we were budget travellers keen to save a quick buck and make the most of our measly holiday budget, we made a fair few mistakes.

Instead of booking through a travel agent or holiday website, we’d plan, coordinate and schedule our own trip.

Sure, sometimes it worked out – but more often than not something would go wrong and we’d end up spending more than we’d saved in the first place.

It could be that the flights landed late at night and we didn’t realise that the trains wouldn’t be running – so we’d end up having to pay for a costly taxi.

It might be that the hotel we’d booked was a little bit far out of town – so the money we’d saved on the hotel room ended up being spent on public transport.

After a few failed DIY budget trips, where we had a wonderful time but still ended up blowing the budget, we decided it was time to bring in the professionals.

Our next trip we worked with a travel agent – and boy am I glad that we did!

They might have been a little bit more expensive than booking direct ourselves – but that extra cost was soon outweighed by the money they saved us with their experience and local knowledge!

No more costly taxi rides or hotels 5 miles out of town. No more surprise tourist taxes, delayed transfers or stressful travel disasters.

It’s a good lesson to learn – and one that applies very much today to our pay per click advertising.

Many of our customers come to us for help after trying to DIY their ad campaigns. They’ve dabbled a bit here and there – trying to save themselves a few pounds – and actually ended up costing themselves more!

You see, pay per click (PPC) advertising can be really very effective – when you know what you’re doing.

But there are some pitfalls and costly mistakes that can be easy to make. You might save yourself a couple of hundred pounds initially – and cost yourself thousands in the long run!

A professional PPC manager will not only help you avoid the costly mistakes but they can optimise your campaigns to bring you more leads and a better return on your investment too.

So yes, hiring someone else to run your ad campaigns will cost you money – but not nearly as much as trying to do it yourself can end up costing you!

If you’re looking for some help with your Google ads, Facebook ads or other PPC campaigns then give us a call on 01827 437971 – we’ll be happy to help.

If you’re looking for some help planning a holiday, we’re probably not your best bet!
