The Merry, Merry Month of May!
Is it just us here at The Lead Generation Group Ltd, or has May been a rather long, if exciting, month?
We've pretty much had all four seasons in most days! Beautiful, hot sunny days, thunderstorms, hail, torrential rain, wind, cold and back to warm and sunny with a bit of mist thrown in for good measure. It's been like that with the heating: "Have you tried switching it off and on again?"
And then, of course, we've had Rishi throwing us all a curved ball with his take on Andi McDowell's famous last scene in Four Weddings and a Funeral as he stood in front of the press in Downing Street, with the rain lashing down, and that song playing in the background! Honestly, you couldn't have made May up.
But often you find that's what a month is like in business; you can set off with your plan in place and then, suddenly, it all changes. It could be an email, a phone call or a meeting and the plan gets ripped up and a new one put in place.
Most businesses like to be proactive and not reactive but we know, in reality, that's not always possible. Often we have new clients come to us at The Lead Generation Group Ltd because they have suddenly found themselves catapulted into a new business era and they have been caught on the hop in terms of their sales and marketing strategy and they need help. And we can be reactive to those kind of calls, but we have also been very proactive with our own strategy to deal with such marketing emergencies.
One thing we love about our business is that pretty much one size fits all: We have huge corporate clients in the transport and logistics industry and we have SMEs and sole traders, but our plans are fit for all purpose marketing. Of course there are times when we need to put some additional padding in the plan, but we build that flexibility in so, all being well, we don't have to be restrictive with our sizing when the need arises.
The good thing about not having set scripts when we use telesales for our clients is that we can then have a natural and organic conversation best suited to their business. Nothing flows better than speaking to someone as though they are sitting in the room with you.
The best leads and the best sales are organically led, and the more you do them the easier it becomes, so no matter how long or how short the working month is, or how many curved balls get thrown your way, you are well-equipped to deal with them, and that's what The LG Group does best.
However, I'm not sure how prepared any of the political parties were for the BIG announcement – heck, nobody even thought to send the PM out with a brolly. . . or perhaps they did and decided that seeing him out there, in the pouring rain, would make a better lasting impression? Clever marketing or just plain stupid? You decide!
