Wheels Keep On Turning

Greetings from the warm offices of The Lead Generation Group Ltd! Are you keeping yourself and your employees warm or are you one of the army of people who have to brave the freezing weather at the moment to deliver your goods and services?

Whatever the weather, truck drivers, farmers, retailers, health care workers, dog walkers and a veritable army of people still have to carry on regardless. When the weather gets really bad we see the warnings about not undertaking a journey unless it's absolutely essential, so what is essential?

When there is a chance that people could be snowed in the first they want to do is stock up on provisions, but who has to deliver those provisions – why the truck drivers of course!

I am always full of admiration for anyone who has chosen a life that literally doesn't stop: Farmers for instance, health care – hospitals stay open all day every day and they have to have to staff to keep them operating. Lorry drivers take to the highways and byways of Great Britian in all weathers to make sure we get the provisions we need, when we need them.

It looks fun though, doesn't it, when you see a lorry passing by and the driver is sitting high up in the cab, master of all they survey. Do you often think "I fancy doing that?"

At The LG Group we know how hard the drivers of the UK work and the difficulties they face on a daily basis: Weather, delays, accidents and, let's be honest, idiot drivers who take no account of the weight and size of an articulated lorry when they decide to overtake and pull in, causing the lorry driver to try and bring a 30+ ton lorry to a halt!

What about all challenging driving conditions they have to face: Bad weather is the worst – high winds, rain, snow and black ice probably being the worst. I used to watch that Channel 5 programme Ice Road Truckers and marvel at how they ever got through some of the roads and the conditions they had to face.

When you think about it, the farmers, the hospitals and the retailers all relay on the truckers being able to conquer the elements and deliver food for their livestock, their patients and their customers.

I have never lost my admiration and understanding of what it's like working in the transport and logistics industry, and that's why The LG Group is so committed to its hard-working, wheels-keep-on-turning customers.
